My 1st pie

Anything related to food or the kitchen or cooking is such a foreign language to me. Ask me what we should have for dinner and you'll hear crickets. Seriously. My poor husband. At least it's not foreign to him. 

I'd seen some amazing looking pies on Instagram and felt rather inspired and since I'm at home all day these days I thought if give it a go. Pie crust, I've heard, can be difficult to do right so I was impressed with how well I did it. Maybe I heard wrong. The only difficult part was the lattice on top. I made the lattice on top of parchment paper, thinking it'd be easy to flip on top of the pie but it wasn't.  :) I forgot to add cinnamon so I sprinkled a bunch on top and it made the crust taste so good! Otherwise, it wasn't that bad. All in all I give myself 5 out of 10 stars.
